Hey !! Since I'm getting a lot of DM's asking for what I use, I decided to create this list with all of my favourites !
Please note that all of the links are affiliated, and that I make a small commission if you end up buying something ! Another little way to support me and my art :)
Brushes set
The variety in size is amazing in this kit, I really use all of them on a daily.
Glaze brushes
These are makeup brushes... BUT they are amazing for glazing. A lot of glaze goops on and it makes it easier to apply thick coats.
Wax and latex tool
These tools are amazing to apply either liquid latex or liquid wax, and since they're silicone they are very easy to clean afterwards.
Multipurpose sponges
I really prefer these sponges to the other ones similar, because these have holes in them and I find that they hold more water.
Bottom water sponges
These telescopic sponges are amazing to catch the water in the bottom of pieces when you clean the rim.
Cleaning sponge
This Mudtools sponge is amazing to wipe the surface of you pieces before painting on them, it creates a smooth base.
Detail painting sponge
I personally use these sponges to blend underglaze colours together or to add blush to my characters.
Small blending sponge
I personally use these sponges to create a gradient background on my pieces, since they are a little bigger than the previous ones.
Sanding block
This is very useful to sand the bottom of your mugs, that way you have a smooth foot. Don't forget to use water when sanding fired pieces.
Beginner underglaze kit
This selection of underglazes is crazy for the price point. Mayco underglazes never fails.
Underglaze felt marker
This marker is amazing to fill in spaces or to create ink like strokes. Keep in mind that this fires more blueish than deep black.
Underglaze pencils
These are fun to mess around with. I personally use them on bisque, then I bisque the pieces again just to make sure that the clear doesn't smudge.
Cup holder
When painting, I place my pieces on this holder, which sits on top of the manual wheel, that way I can safely move the piece to work on it.
Manual wheel
I use this wheel to place my work in progress on, it's very useful to be able to turn the piece without holding it.
Beginner tools kit
This little kit is amazing for the price, I still use a lot of these 3 years later and they are doing just fine.
Liquid latex
I personally use liquid latex when I want to be able to mask a design while glazing. It's easier to clean up too. Don't use this on un-bisqued pieces tho ! It will remove your underglaze.
Liquid wax
To be able to mask a design and still work on it before firing, liquid wax is what you need. Don't worry, it burns off in the kiln.
Liquid kiln wash
It's always a good idea to use kiln wash on your shelves if you own a kiln. This formula is my favourite.
